EXTERIOR WATERPROOFING [E.E.W. SOLUTION]:
- Over the years we have dealt with exterior water a lot.
- In some cases we will work on the outside vs. the inside to stop with water from coming through the walls.
- We when do this we call it EEW; Excavate Epoxy Waterproof.
- The steps are fairly straight forward.
- We excavate the area that seems to be the trouble spot and dig down to the footing
- The footing and wall surface is cleaned, brushed, and inspected.
- Typically we find cracks, roots that have punched in the walls, wall ties that have shrunk to allow water in, holes and improper utility work allowing water in.
- In all these areas we apply hydrolic cement which is a special cement that expands once it gets wet and blocks the hole.
- On top of this we apply (2) coats of water-tite. We use this because unlike the tar spray it bonds better and flexes with the surface if they move in the future vs. cracking and leaking as the tar spray does.
- Once all is complete we backfill and clean the site.
